When filmmaker Wieke Kapteijns was six years old, his mother passed away. He was left with a silent father, two younger sisters, and a fading memory of his mother. A quarter century later, he embarks on a journey to find her. He not only reconstructs an image of the woman his mother was but also discovers for the first time what he truly missed.
