Growing up in the desert can be overwhelming, surrounded by endless dunes that create an endless landscape. There is affection for these spaces, an attachment to the place of one's birth. But that sense of security is shattered when the desert is used as a site for loss, being complicit in the disappearances of women and femicides in the region. How can I reclaim that space?
